Men or women can ask for a date, pay for a date, etc.The sperm chases the egg concept of dating seems to be a throwback. I am lightyears more sophisticated than this prehistoric concept – aren’t you? Or is there something to learn here? I am going to explore this with you briefly. What would this phrase mean in this example: I go on a very nice first date – lots of laughs, the man pays for dinner and a show. In the parking lot there is a big strong bear hug, and he says let’ do this again. Seemingly it went well, wouldn’t you say?And it is now 3 weeks since the date with no response. I sent a thank you within 24 hours via text. The response was minimal but seemingly okay: Thanks Mary fun date! This came on same day as my thank you text. And that was the last message from him.I am being ghosted perhaps? I have a zillion ideas/fears of what could be happening. I could keep prompting him and dropping silly memes or texting once a day, once an hour, once every 10 minutes. But I am pondering the sperm chases the egg. If this is true, this egg is not being chased. Out of the bajillion sperm out there, this particular sperm is not chasing me.And I let this rest. I will not chase the sperm. If the man is into me, he has the information he needs to contact me. I am reciting my mantra from “He’s Just Not That Into You”, the world’s best movie. I am calm.If you find yourself doing the chasing – perhaps you are farther along in dating – please ponder the amount of sperm chasing, you are doing. Does this visual, concrete concept help you refocus? Does it give you some comfort? Please let me know your thoughts on this.
