You clearly have been around the dating world. So, what dating website would you recommend for me? I am 55 years old, not super attractive, not thin, not athletic, not rich…a ton of nots. I need one that works quick because I can’t afford to be on a dating site for very long.

I am a bit confused. Would you date you? You listed some “nots” and indicated there are more. Are you even date-able?
May I suggest you start off with a realistic inventory of what you like about yourself? Try to delete the “nots” from your psyche and concentrate on the “haves”. What gives you some enjoyment or pleasure to know you can do such and such? What activities do you enjoy – regardless of whether you are good at them? What sounds fun to you? If you are finding it tough, is there a friend or family member that can help? Or would a therapist – 3rd person of some sort – help?
What are you looking for from the dating world? A friendship, casual companionship, or marriage? What type of person do you wish to date? What attributes should this person have? How would this person be compatible with your traits?
After this frank, honest, realistic analysis we can discuss various dating sites. There is one in which the woman controls the first contact. It rhymes with fumble. It is a free start with the option to gain more access with modest fees. For a woman testing the dating waters – which it sounds like you are – this one might work.
